We are pleased to be able to offer acupuncture as part of our treatment packages.
Acupuncture involves the insertion of very fine needles into the skin, it is painless and safe when performed by a trained professional. It has been used in China for over 2000 years and has been used in Western healthcare for around 50 years.
Acupuncture is a really useful treatment adjunct for many women with pelvic health problems. It offers pain relief and relaxation, which can then allow you to exercise and restore normal movements/function.
It can be useful in the treatment of overactive bladder symptoms, faecal incontinence and for pelvic pain conditions.
We rarely use acupuncture as a stand-alone treatment, if we feel you would benefit from acupuncture, we will discuss this with you during your appointments.
Please note acupuncture can only be provided at West Kirby Physiotherapy Clinic.
